Bus Driver - Immediate Need
DIXIE SCHOOL DISTRICT
BUS DRIVER
Supervisor: Superintendent/Principal
Salary Range: $22.13 – 27.25
Conditions of work: Morning and afternoon bus routes (2 hours each route)
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE TO: Principal/Superintendent; Head Bus Driver
DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR: Transporting Students; Driving a School Bus
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive a school bus for students on scheduled routes within and outside the school district boundaries. Routes include students in multiple districts.
- Assist in behavior management of students for their physical and emotional safety while riding the bus.
- Maintain a positive relationship with students, parents, and school staff.
- Appropriately respond to unexpected or unusual behaviors from students
- Operate the bus in accordance with the laws of Washington State and school district policies. Practice safe and courteous driving.
- Service, inspect and clean the bus and related equipment as required by the state and district policy.
- Successfully complete school bus driver training programs and ongoing training the district provides for drivers.
- Complete forms, records and reports as required by transportation.
- Conduct self in a professional, appropriate adult manner.
- Confidential materials kept confidential.
- Perform other bus driver related duties as directed by the district.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned to complete the 2-hour time paid guarantee.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be at least twenty-one years of age with three years’ experience driving a
licensed vehicle
- Clean and neat appearance
- Unquestionable concern for students
- Ability to get along with students and adults
Preference is given to applicants who already possess a CDL with school bus and passenger endorsements.

New Teacher and Principal Evaluation System
Dixie School District 101 is in the process of implementing a new Teacher and Principal performance evaluation system in compliance with recent Washington state legislative requirements. As a part of this new system, teachers and principals are being evaluated each year on eight state established criteria. The rating system is a four-tiered scale including the following:
Unsatisfactory, Basic, Proficient and Distinguished. Each school district is required to adopt one of three similar 'instructional frameworks' as the basis for the teacher evaluation. Dixie School District 101 has adopted the Danielson Instructional Framework for this. There is also a Leadership Framework that provides the basis for the Principal evaluation system that was developed by the Association of Washington School Principals.
